PhD viva voce - Lee Li Pin

We would like to extend our heartiest congratulation to one of our members, Lee Li Pin, for successfully defending her doctorate thesis entitled "Mapping transcriptional start site and identification of novel sRNA in Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv" at a viva voce.


Lee Li Pin has joined our group since 2010 and after years of hard works, she is now accomplishing the final milestone of her PhD study.

We wish her all the best and we are very sure that she is going to excel in the future.

Dr. Ng Siew Kit awarded the Young Scientist Programme Fellowship & Best Presenter

June, 2018 - One of our RNA-Bio research group member, Dr. Ng Siew Kit, had just received the prestigious Young Scientist Programme Fellowship (worth more than USD1100) to attend the IUBMB Seoul 2018 congress. Siew Kit presented his research on IRF9 and showcased his wider research interest through poster presentation. There were more than 800 participants, including over 100 speakers attended the event. At the conclusion of the event, Siew Kit was conferred the Best Presenter Award for his exciting and passionate presentation over both oral and poster sessions.  The 24th IUBMB Congress & 15th FAOBMB Congress (IUBMB Seoul 2018) was held from 4-8th June, 2018 in COEX, Seoul, South Korea. This is a flagship event of IUBMB that is held every three years, where excellent biochemist and molecular biologist from around the world congregate to showcase their research. Invited speaker from AIMST University - Dr. Choy Ker Woon

January 7, 2019 – We kicked start the year with an insightful talk given by Dr Choy Ker Woon from AIMST University. Dr Woon’s lecture is titled “Pharmacological effects of paeonol against endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation-induced endothelial dysfunction”. Dr Woon recently completed her PhD at the University of Malaya and is currently a senior lecturer at AIMST University.                                                   

Congratulations on the receipt of Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA)

May 24, 2017 - We're very glad to share the news that one of our students, Ms. Nur Nadia Che Aziz, has recently received the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship 2017/2018. Conferment of the scholarship was officiated by His Royal Highness Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XV, Sultan Muhammad V at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur.  After that, she was live interviewed on Selamat Pagi Malaysia, TV1 on June 3, on her research regarding background and its contribution to Malaysia.
