The 10th Leiden International (Bio-) Medical Student Conference (LIMSC) 2017

March 15-19, 2017 – Two of our lab members, Siti Aminah & Alvin Paul recently attended the LIMSC conference held in the city of Leiden, Netherlands.  Ms. Siti presented her project titled “Transcriptome profiling of L. interrogans serovar Lai” in the poster format. Meanwhile, Alvin gave an oral presentation on the “Analysis of IRF9 phosphorylation state during type I interferon response”. The biennial five-day conference was attended by more than 300 participants from 55 countries spanning from the Americas to Asia. Prominent speakers from the UK and around the country shared their research experience with attendees and gave talks on medical issues.

Dr. Ng Siew Kit awarded the Young Scientist Programme Fellowship & Best Presenter

June, 2018 - One of our RNA-Bio research group member, Dr. Ng Siew Kit, had just received the prestigious Young Scientist Programme Fellowship (worth more than USD1100) to attend the IUBMB Seoul 2018 congress. Siew Kit presented his research on IRF9 and showcased his wider research interest through poster presentation. There were more than 800 participants, including over 100 speakers attended the event. At the conclusion of the event, Siew Kit was conferred the Best Presenter Award for his exciting and passionate presentation over both oral and poster sessions.  The 24th IUBMB Congress & 15th FAOBMB Congress (IUBMB Seoul 2018) was held from 4-8th June, 2018 in COEX, Seoul, South Korea. This is a flagship event of IUBMB that is held every three years, where excellent biochemist and molecular biologist from around the world congregate to showcase their research. Invited speaker from AIMST University - Dr. Choy Ker Woon

January 7, 2019 – We kicked start the year with an insightful talk given by Dr Choy Ker Woon from AIMST University. Dr Woon’s lecture is titled “Pharmacological effects of paeonol against endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammation-induced endothelial dysfunction”. Dr Woon recently completed her PhD at the University of Malaya and is currently a senior lecturer at AIMST University.                                                   

Congratulations on the receipt of Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship (BYDPA)

May 24, 2017 - We're very glad to share the news that one of our students, Ms. Nur Nadia Che Aziz, has recently received the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Scholarship 2017/2018. Conferment of the scholarship was officiated by His Royal Highness Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XV, Sultan Muhammad V at Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur.  After that, she was live interviewed on Selamat Pagi Malaysia, TV1 on June 3, on her research regarding background and its contribution to Malaysia.
